Jolyon Burford

Coordinator Health Literacy and Plain Language

Jolyon has over 15 years of experience in learning design, training, and accessible communication across healthcare, government, and youth education. He holds a Bachelor of Social Science and a Graduate Diploma of Education from RMIT University, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Before joining Enliven, Jolyon spent seven years at the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health, where he designed and delivered training in plain language, cultural competence, and health literacy. He built eLearning courses now used by government departments, hospitals, and community health services across Australia.

Earlier in his career, Jolyon spent four years at Youthworx (Melbourne Polytechnic) teaching accredited media production to young people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion, and facilitated career readiness workshops with the Foundation for Young Australians.

Jolyon is drawn to the puzzle of making complex information feel simple — not just the words, but how it's structured, designed, and shaped for the people who actually need to use it.
