Plain language in practice – 3.5 hours

Introduction and applying plain language hybrid

A hybrid workshop that introduces participants to plain language and gives them the opportunity to put their skills to practice. Plain language in practice is a more in-depth workshop designed to help participants apply plain language techniques to real-world communication. This session includes:

  • Interactive and hands-on activities

  • Customised content relevant to your team or sector

  • Opportunities to bring your own documents or examples for feedback and discussion

Our public training sessions are a simple way to access professional development without the hassle of organising your own workplace booking. We set the date and time, you just choose the session that suits you and book one or more tickets. Community education workshops

We deliver workshops in the community on topics, such as heatheaith ans food security. Our sessions are designed to be both informative and practical. All workshops can be tailored to your group’s needs.

Preparing for heatwaves

To combat a changing climate and the necessary health information required to cope with this, we offer a 1-hour face-to-face education session. This presentation discusses how to stay healthy in a heat wave, including topics such as:

  • What is a heatwave

  • How to stay informed and prepare for a heatwave

  • Nutritious food to prep and consume during a heatwave

  • Tips and tricks to keep yourself and your community safe during a heatwave

Participants will walk away with an increased understanding of heat waves, and how to prepare and keep safe during a heatwave.

Grow & Cook

To support healthy eating and sustainable living in community settings, we offer a seasonal growing and cooking workshop. This workshop is perfect for groups looking to connect through gardening, cooking, and shared meals. Our hands-on session is tailored to the current season and includes:

  • A kitchen safety and cutting demonstration

  • Gardening benefits presentation

  • Tips and tricks to easy growing Planting demonstration and Q+A

  • Shared meal amongst participants
